Nature of Ocracoke Island

Ocracoke Island has many things that its tourists experience and one of them is it's many natural wonders.  There is no land connection to the island so many of its animals have developed there.  The wild ponies are descendants of the shipwrecks of Spanish ships on the way to the New World.  Some animals, such as the ponies and cats, were brought to the island and settled in.  While others came on their own.  There are the truly unique such as the Ocracoke Artistic goat, pictured below.  You will never see another one like it.  Hope to see you next visit.
